The name has been around since 1993, but Mind
Mined continues to be about one thing: people. We enjoy doing our creative work as a collective, carrying a banner, as it were, for the ongoing counterculture from which we derive spiritual fulfillment. Below is a list of creative individuals who together compose the heart and soul of the Mind Mined Studio project, a continuing effort to capture pleasing sounds on record, however they might occur.
Jamie Pageau
engineer/percussionist
Jamie Pageau has been drumming and singing for ten years and is the creator of Mindfest. His
studio challenge is to keep things "on the edge" and
to focus on the artists's needs. In ten years he will be managing
a chain of Mind Mined studios to rival McDonald's. |

Jerry Kibbey
engineer/bassist
Jerry Kibbey has been playing bass for ten years, and enjoys
how one can feel the instrument as well as hear it. He also is a co-creator of Mindfest. His studio
challenge is to find the sweet spots in the rooms to capture
a natural ambiance in recordings. In ten years he imagines saying
"Wow" at being a part of something so solid and outrageous. |
Doug Knutsen
engineer/drummer
Doug Knutsen has been playing the drums for nineteen years.
His studio challenge means foam, foam, foam... sculpting a sound
for each room by enginnering with foam shapes. In ten years
Doug will be balancing his time between the Rhythm Ship world
tour and helping out here at Mind Mined Studios. |

Justin Hoxie
musician/producer/engineer
Justin Hoxie runs Spinning
Vortex Studios By The Sea on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. His
studio challenge is to capture the sound and style that makes
each artist unique. |
Skip Hirtle
engineer/guitarist
Skip Hirtle has been playing guitar for ten years (is there
an echo in here?). His studio challenge is to continually create
something out of nothing— taking that “sound”
in your head and putting it out there for the whole world to
enjoy. In ten years he will have made a lot of mistakes and
hopes to have learned from each and every one. |

Mike Mc Glone
engineer/guitarist/lighting pro
Mike Mc Glone has been playing folk, blues and psychedelic music
in various groups for 12 years. His studio challenge is to produce
high quality records in those genres here at Mind Mined. In ten
years he plans on living in a mountain compound somewhere north
of Route 302 in New Hampshire. |
